Keep your website up to date yourself
Change a text, swap a photo, add a new project: with a CMS you do it yourself, whenever it suits you.
An editing screen behind your website
CMS stands for content management system. In plain language: an editing screen for your website. You log in, pick the page, change the text or the photo and click save. A moment later the change is online.
It looks like a form with clearly named fields, so you don't need to know any code. You only change text and images; the layout of the site stays the way I built it.
Why a CMS is handy
You don't depend on me
Putting a new opening time, a different price or a new project online takes a few minutes, instead of an email and a wait.
No technical knowledge needed
You work in fields with clear names, like Title, Text and Photo. I explain it and show you how it works.
On your phone too
The editing screen works on your phone, so a photo of a finished project goes in right away.
Every change is kept
What you save is stored with a date in a version history, so there is always an earlier version to fall back on.
No expensive subscription
The CMS itself is open source and has no licence or monthly fee. You pay for me setting it up, and for your domain and hosting.
Your site stays fast and simple
There is no database and no stack of plug-ins behind your site. That means less maintenance and fewer security risks.
Sveltia CMS
I work with Sveltia CMS myself. It is free and open source (MIT licence), so you are not tied to one vendor. The content of your site lives in its own online folder with version control (Git), not in a database.
My own website can already be managed with it too. I'm happy to show you what that looks like.
- Open source and free
- Lightweight, works on phone and computer
- Multiple languages side by side
- Media library for your photos
- Save drafts before you publish, if we set it up that way
Is a CMS right for you?
- change texts or prices regularly
- often add new projects, photos or news items
- don't want to wait or pay for every change
- have more than one language on your site
- only change your site a few times a year
- prefer to leave everything to me
A CMS is not a separate service but an option with your website: you choose it with a new site or when redoing your current one.
With a CMS you change texts and photos. The design of the site and new pages remain work for me.
I set up the login for you and explain how it works. Changes by me remain possible, even if you have a CMS.
I'm happy to tell you more in a conversation: what it can do, what it looks like and what it means for your site.
